Scales source and guide for musicians
The Iberian Scale has six notes and is also called Iberian Hexatonic Scale (hexa- is prefix for six).
One thing that characterize the Iberian scales is the 1 - b2 interval, which is quite uncommon but are located in other scales such as Dominant Diminished, Eight Tone Spanish, Oriental and the Phrygian and Locrian modes. None of these are hexatonic scales although.
