Dorian Add 5 Scales
Dorian Add 5 can be seen as a hybrid scale between the Major and Minor Blues Pentatonic and based on the Dorian mode. The Scale is identical with the Dorian except from the added flat fifth. It is an eight-note scale and must not be confused with the Dorian b5.
Whereas the Dorian mode is associated with jazz, the Dorian Add 5 will deliver a bluesy sound but not as distinct as for the Blues Scale and with a slight Oriental character. It is suitable to use in refined blues and jazz-blues styles.
