Augmented Scales

The Augmented Scale (a.k.a. Symmetrical Augmented Scale) consists of six notes, and therefore belongs to the category of hexatonic scales. The name is based on the fact that the scale is built upon two augmented chords.

In the overview below, symbols such as B#, E#, C## and F## is used. This is because it is formally incorrect to include the same letter two times in a scale notation.
