Byzantine Scales

The Byzantine Scale, also known as Double Harmonic Scale, has a configuration that gives produce an exotic sound. That characterizes this scale are the two gaps with one and a half semi-steps between the second and third and the sixth and seventh tones.

The easiest way to learn the Byzantine scales are probably by comparing them with the Major scales. The only differences are the second and sixth note which both are lowered.
